    my 1976 honda civic has whit smoke emitting from the exhaust whats the problem

    White smoke usually means water or antifreeze in the combustion chamber. could be a head gasket or a cracked or warped head. Black smoke the  engine is putting to much gas in, bluish smoke its burning oil.

    Thanks! I realized after that white smoke meant water and came back to correct my answer. No need to now ;)

    Could be oil mixing into the gas. Check the head gasket.
