I go to UK nearly every year where I am covered by NHS (I am British). Can I cancel insurance for some 6 months per year and reinstate upon my return without penalty or extra premiums. I do not want Dental as I have no teeth and assume cover does NOT include dentures.

If you mean National Insurance contributions you should keep paying thes or you will not get a full State Retirement Pension on retirement. Your eligibility for NHS treatment should not be affected and new dentures on the NHS should be available if you can find a dentist willing to supply them.
