    1. The router is not properly configured to the one computer, for whatever reason. you can try unplugging the power to the router, and plugging it back in, and restarting the computer OR calling the router manufacturer.

    2. The ethernet cable between the router and intermittent computer is faulty. (if you have wireless, then this point won't count)

    3. The ethernet card AKA "NIC" in the intermittent computer is faulty, DESPITE your computer being fairly new

    4. There is a software conflict on your computer (we see a LOT of issues with antivirus software malfunctioning, for no particular reason), OR you have some sort of virus/spyware.

    But the key here, is that you have to look at your modem or router when the connection drops. if the modem lights indicate the connection is still fine, there is a GOOD chance its the router. i would try bypassing the router for about 3 days, and see if your connection still drops. also, try a hardwired connection (not wireless) during those 3 days. if you notice the issue has cleared up, then you can at least limit what the issue could be.
