    "My love"
    Shalom,

I may be wrong... But as far as I know, " My love" in english when used to call a person, is actually close to the meaning of " My beloved".
When you translate a word or an expression, the goal is not to translate word by word, but to stay as close as possible to the real meaning of the expression. In hebrew, "love" = "ahava" or ??????? is a noun, that is usually not used to talk about a person, it sounds weird.

Therefore, "Ahuvi Sheli" for a man and "Ahuvati sheli" for a girl is the closest expression to " My beloved" which is the expression that people would use in Israel if they were speaking English instead of "my love".

My boyfriend used to sing to me a famous hebrew song to make fun of the situation called " Ahuvati sheli livnat tzavar" ...

And as a reference you can also check this forum: http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php?t=101802

Look at what another native speaker of hebrew wrote : His name is : morgoth2604.
