There use to be a company close to here that would pick up Dead animals and dispose of them properly. I use to deliver to the place and it stunk so bad I would almost throw up.... I can remember one time when I arrived old Red {the owners name} was sitting on a dead bloated cow eating his lunch, And offered me a sandwich. Yuk... I later learned he would do things like that because he new I hated going there..

Time for the big digger and a big hole, put the old guy in too.
LOL I would have loved too. I had to go clear in the back of a big building that was just nasty... I exchanged oxygen and acetylene cylinders, and the ones I picked up were just covered in sticky nasty whatever,, I'm guessing from when they moved them around they didn't wash first. I would smell like that place for the rest of the day. and yes I did wear gloves..
In MA, USA they now (for several years) have urged the farmer to compost them above ground, to protect the water

It's nature, unless they are pumping them with something they shouldn't be, where's the problem?
STEAKS!
STEAKS!
Yeah, but it depends upon why it died... If you know that it was a bullet to the head, then steaks for everyone... However, if it died of unknown causes, compost!
just find a pro. that can get rid of it properly

Easier said than done. There are not a lot of pros around for dead cow removal which is why farmers just bury the carcass.
