    This car should have a distributor-less ignition system  Everything is controlled by the computer, so if you are having issues related to timing it is possible that the problem might be in another component, like the crankshaft sensor .The ignition timing is preset to 10 degrees Before Top Dead Center (BTDC) and is not adjustable. http://www.fixya.com/cars/t2755856-set_timing_2003_ford_exploer
