    Is it snowing?
    ROMOS

    No, but it's VERY frosty.
    millie111

Bah...And there was me thinking that you were all Scotsman!:-)LOL
    AldeWicht

It's freezing here too in Sweden. God it's like -40 degrees out here. Damn illness. But love the country
    ROMOS

Yep, our stuff is blowing directly across from Sweden, bloody freezing.

Romos is keeping warm, he has his blankets.""

    ROMOS

I've got double that amount on my legs at the moment, can hardly type.
    :-)

Romos, what about a good old hot water bottle on your lap? I use it, after beeing outside getting firewood. It warms me right up.
    ROMOS

I've got two Ann,one for the lap,one for my wee tootsies.
    Ann

You should be all set then.
Years ago in Europe we used to heat up a brick, than wrap it in a towel and put our feet on it. It holds the heat much longer than a water bottle.
    ROMOS

My Grandmother used to do that when I was a kid, she had two bricks to place in bed before we went down for the night, I've got an electric blanket now.
    Ann

I had an electric blanket and got rid of it. I dont think they are very healthy to use.
I have very thick featherbeds from Europe and covers to go with it. Nothing beats them for warmth.

    While Scotland shivered
Sydney Australia had the hottest day "ever" on record,47c in the city.
    ROMOS

    I wish.
    Ann

Pythonlover, that is too hot for me.Do you still have fires burning?

Yes Ann they are,not so much out of control now.

They are more used to snow and cold up in Scotland than we are, It's -2c here in Essex 1 inch of snow, and everyone is rushing to the shops to stock up with food. Tomorrow there will be no food left in the shops, and everyone will be sitting at home eating and getting fatter.

    Ann

I dont eat more than usual. I just make more soups than usual.
    ROMOS

Yes we are sB, but the shoppers are the same here, a little hint of snow and it's time to panic buy, never happened like that when I was younger, must be a generational thing.
    sunnyB

I think I eat a little more when it's cold Ann, I have just had some mushroom soup with toasted soya bread, so that wasn't too unhealthy.

It's the same here, just before a holiday. The groceries stores are jammed with shoppers. You would think that we might starve to death when the stores are closed for a day. :)
    sunnyB

I think it is the generation gap Romos, We used to walk to school in the snow, and have snow ball fights on the way home, getting home wet and cold. There was a school on the tele this morning down in Bristol which was OPEN .The head teacher had arrange a snow man competition, the kids were having a fantastic time, that's what childhood should be like.
    lambshank

Duckey, your absolutely right, the shops rarely close, I can't figure the almost "panic" buying either
    millie111

Nah...it`s time to get out there sledging and having some fun in the snow!:-)

Wow. If it snowed an inch here in Austin, the whole city shuts down, even half an inch. Snow makes it impossible to drive and there is a lot of accidents by the poor idiots who try to drive.....

    lambshank

That sounds like our F3 (freeway) if it looks like sprinkling, out comes the precision driving team and there are accidents everywhere
    Tommyh

If it snows here in Brisbane we move to Cairns.LOL

I would really like to feel sorry for ROMOS but...um...at my house this morning, the temperature is....  -15C (5F) with about a foot of snow on the ground. It's okay though. We have furnaces and/or electric heat and lots of snow removal equipment. We'll just go on with our day, business as usual....no need to sit around with blankets, bricks or hot water bottles! Sorry R....no sympathy at all.       LOL!!!

    ROMOS

-18F as I type and the sun is shining, I love this weather, as long as I'm warm of course.
    Thanks for your concern though!
