      The century begins on the first day in the year 01 , such as 2001 and it ends on the last day of the last year 00, such as 2100.

        a century is a period of 100 years. for example: we are now in the 21st century. it means that untill now, 20 centuries had past, and we are now in the 21st century. the year 2100 will be the last year of the 21st century, and the year 2001 was the first year of the 21st century.
