    How do I remove the brake drum on a John Deere model A tractor

    3 bolts hold the brake on the tractor take them out, pull the brake off the tractor, put it in a vise, there's a big nut on the back with a cotter pin in it, break that nut loose and the drum should slide right off. If you have trouble sliding the drum off loosen the square adjusting  bolt that's on the backside.
