Now you have me thinking. No, i don't think my Grandsons school is equipped. They recently had fences and gates installed around the perimeter, but not locked during the day.Maybe an electronic one would be more beneficial.

From what I understand, they had done everything right short of armed guards.  This guy was a teacher's son, probably not suspicious......

When I taught (retired in 2008), we had plans in effect for lock down, and the such.  They also put in some cameras, however, there was no personnel who monitored them all day.  Our school was more difficult to secure, as it was a 150 acre campus with woodlands, a main street bisecting it, and a river flanking it.  There are 27 buildings on this campus also.  I know their attempts are not sufficient, but to what degree could you be fully prepared?  I fear for my grand children and their futures!
