    Should I replace transmission fluid at 100,000 miles?

    Never hurts.

    I would say it's way overdue for changing at 100,000 miles especially if it looks brownish in colour.


    Depending on the vehicle it may not be a DIY job.If your vehicle has a drain plug in the transmission sump you can drain it & replace what you have drained with clean fluid This will not drain the fluid from the torque converter etc tho.If it doesn't have the plug you will have to remove the sump & replace the gasket.In this case you would probably be best advised to take it to a mechanic.Hope this helps.Merry Christmas.
