discuss other aspects of diagnosis coding that affects us on a personal level

Well, it used to be that those codes could be used to discriminate against you (You aren't hired due to a medical condition or fired due to them).  However, in the US, the New HIPPA laws prevent people form gaining access to these codes and prevent Docs, nurses, office personel, etc. from giving the diagnostic codes to anyone not directly involved with your care.  Insurance companies do have a right to know and, under certain circumstances, can deny you coverage from any pre-existing conditions for a certain period of time.

As far as I know, this has no impact on me on a personal level. Explain why you think it does.
