Does it do anything at all? Please give as much information as you can as to what happens when you turn the key.

the instrument panel lights go on and thats it the check engine light came on once a couple days ago but then went off
So no sound it at all? It's does not turn over? Then I would suspect the starter or starter celluloid is bad. Start with the celluloid. It's on the firewall between the battery and starter. Easy to remove and replace and does not cost a lot. If that does not help, replace the starter. Also another easy fix. Remember to disconnect the battery before you replace either part.
