Start the Microsoft Word program.

Open the Microsoft Word document you wish to augment with clip art. If you have not already created a document, start it and finish all text before attempting to insert the clip art.

Move your mouse to the location within the document where you want the clip art to appear. You should see the cursor blinking in the spot you chose.

Click on "Insert" from the menu bar at the top of the page.

Choose the "Picture" option from the submenu choices in the "Insert" menu.

Scroll down and select "Clip Art" from the new submenu that has been provided.

View the choice of clip art provided in the window that pops up. The clip art is arranged into categories. If you want to see the different options within each category, left-click on the specific category. If you wish to return to the main menu, simply click the back arrow located at the top of the clip-art window.

Left-click on the clip-art picture you want to insert into your document.

Select the first icon from the small pop-up menu that appears when you left-click on the chosen clip-art picture. This is the Insert Clip Art icon, and will drop in the selected picture at the previously chosen location within the Word document.

Once the clip art has been inserted, click the "X" in the upper right-hand corner of the clip art window to close it

If you wish to delete the clip art once it has been inserted, click the "Edit" option from the menu bar, and then "undo picture." Follow the links in Resources for information on how to use other Microsoft Word functions.
