You need a "kit" for cold weather?

Over here it's all natures own, and I can assure you it's bloody cold.

This is a kit that goes on the thermostat of the fridge, and warms it so it can sense that the fridge should run. In a cold garage, this would not happen as the sensor would be cold. The freezer would thus never get cooled and food would spoil, unbeknown to you, as it may be refrozen when you took it out! So, this kit prevents the fridge from shutting down in cold temps.
