One way to create a shortcut of a website, such as a gmail account page shortcut, can be done as follows: go to your gmail account, click once with left mouse button on the address box so that the address is highlighted, and click the keys combination 'Ctrl + c' in order to copy the address. Now minimize all open windows so that the desktop of your computer is seen, right-click with your computer mouse on a clear area on the desktop, on the menu that opens choose 'New', and then 'Shortcut'. On the dialog box that opens paste the address of your gmail account page in the text bar that is on that box by clicking 'Ctrl +v', click the 'Next' button, and in the dialog box that is on the following page, type the name you wish to name the shortcut, and click the 'Finish' button.
