can i upgrade from xp prof. to win.8 just by downloading win.8 or do i have to format my pc[wipe xp off my pc 1st]?

will win.8 automatically do what is needed? i dont want 2 systems taking up my space!

You will need to contact Microsoft about this. Since you have to purchase Windows 8, this will entitle you to free support. http://support.microsoft.com/
