Yes and no. Yes, if you have paid the insurance premium long enough. No, when you are in your first since start of Policy. What you need to do is to read through your policy documents, where you'll be able to find your answers. As far as Social Security benefits is concerned, you are entitled for it irrespective of any insurance money. Again, to satisfy yourself and not be reliant on third party people, my second piece of advice is to check with your local Benefit office for clarification.
Remember, for as long as you have been paying TAX and your (stamps) NATIONAL insurance- the name speaks for itself, you should be able to claim benefits.
