Instructions
- 1
Check the power cord to ensure it is plugged into the outlet. Troubleshooting any major appliance begins with the most obvious problems. As dryers sometimes vibrate when drying a load of laundry, the power cord may come loose from the outlet. Turn off the breaker at the house's
main breaker panel and inspect the plug and cord for breaks and burns. If any exist, contract a service technician immediately and do not operate the dryer. - 2
Look at the Admiral dryer's heating element. Open the back access panel. Below the drum, near the rear of the appliance is a heating element. It looks like a flat metal panel with coils stretched over it. Use a flashlight to illuminate the interior of the dryer and look for
broken coils on the heating element. If any are present, replace the heating element by unscrewing it and sliding a new one into position. - 3
Check the belt
drive. Admiral dryers, like other brand names, turn the drum with a belt connected to a motor. See if the belt is broken or has slipped off. If it has slipped from its position, the belt is probably worn and needs to be replaced. - 4
Look at the blower and motor. Test the motor with a voltmeter to see if it is properly working. Look specifically for burn marks on both the motor and blower. Also, look at the fan assembly in the dryer to see if it is seized up. Attempt to turn it to test the fan assembly.
- 5
Replace the thermostat. Purchase an Admiral dryer thermostat and replace it. The thermostat controls the dryer's temperature and if it fails or malfunctions, the Admiral dryer may not heat properly or at all. The thermostat is typically located at the top of the appliance under the control panel.

Cole Porter!
You're the top!
You're the Coliseum.
You're the top!
You're the Louver Museum.
You're a melody from a symphony by Strauss
You're a Bendel bonnet,
A Shakespeare's sonnet,
You're Mickey Mouse.
You're the Nile,
You're the Tower of Pisa,
You're the smile on the Mona Lisa
I'm a worthless check, a total wreck, a flop,
But if, baby, I'm the bottom you're the top!
