On your desktop machine that's at:
Start/Control Panel/Printers and Faxes/
You'll get a list of installed printers (or just one in your case).
Right Click your mouse on the printer and select "sharing" from the menu.
Then click the box that says "Share This Printer" and then OK.
After that when you try to print from the laptop you should see your desktop printer as an option and you'll be able to print to that.
