    "LY" changes an adjective into an adverb. For example: He has a BAD (adj.) cut. Or to use bad as an adverb, one would say: He is BADLY (adverb) cut.

      "LY" describes the manner in which something occurs.  HOW.
      He drove carefully (wrecklessly).  She ate quickly.  (slowly, neatly, greedily)  He denied the accusations stubbornly (loudly, guiltily).  They usually (regularly, generally) go out on Friday evening.

        Ly is subjective adverb that helps define the degree to whick your verb is done..Like good, better, and best.
