I bought a 2007 Jeep Liberty recently and it did not come with a dipstick for the transmission. Shouldn't I have one there is just a plug in the hole. The owners manual tells you how to check it. I called a jeep dealer and they said I have to bring it in to be checked. That doesn't seem right. Can you help me?

Yep.That's the way they come these days. Check under the car for transmission oil leaks is about all you can do.If it's not leaking anywhere it should be OK.The idea is you are supposed to have it serviced at an authorised mechanic.
