    I was wanting to know how can one make tools out of wood " like the 24" gauge

    if they were free you wouldn't have to make them.... not really sure if theres a question here

    for gifts?, well like i said carving out of wood needs creativity, which if you have, you'll do just fine looking at a picture of the "gauge" and carve it, but if you don't have that kind of skill, then you'll need to see a real carpenter, but it'll will cost , so you'll just have to do with whatever skills you have to make the best out of it.
