1.6 litres I believe is the capacity of the 1.2 gearbox and you usually know its got enough in when its up to the level of the filler hole.

where is the filler hole ???
On top of the gearbox is a breather, Location is beneath the diesel filter and towards the engine. A bit awkward to get at. There's a strange shaped nut with a plastic cover/hood. undo that and the oil is placed in there. Make sure the car is level. the over flow plug is behind the nearside drive shaft. from empty it takes 1.65 litres no drain plug you have to remove or loosen the plate under the gearbox.
