If your cd's arent being read after you put it in the drive try taking the cd out and cleaning it by gently wiping out from center to the edge of cd. If there are alot of scratches on the cd chances are it is damaged and your player cant read the data. Look at the cd up toward the light if you see "holes" through the cd the disk is no longer readable.

Playing CDs on computers is done by opening the CD player, inserting the CD, and closing it. Then, a dialog box opens though which playing songs from the CD is possible.

If a dialog box doesn't open, click the 'Start' button, then 'My Computer' and then double-click the CD player icon.
