    Why can a habit only be broken by making new ones?

    Because the brain has been conditioned to the habit and a new one is the best way to break the old habit.


    The new habit is just steps you take in order to recondition your brain...like chewing gum or snapping an elastic on your wrist, to quit smoking.

    Not necessary breaking a habit like "smoking you don`t replace it .You don`t chew tobacco !! 

    Because we are habits of creatures.
