          Both my male and female are barkers. Age is not slowing them down nor, is persistent training.

          It's pretty transparent what you are saying here Nom and I caution you to be more wise about using this forum to make a dig at females.           They're just like people who like to hear themselves talk. As they grow older, the hearing starts to "go" , in dogs, as in people.

            Like most people, mentaly healthy dogs tend to slow down and get less excited as they age.
