    It gets very cold. There is wind, rain, snow and shortened hours of sunlight. If you are from a warm climate, be prepared to freeze as you will have thin blood from not being acclimated to cold temperatures.

    depends on where you are.i am in ayr[south west coast] it is not too cold,not a lot of snow or frost being close to the sea.in the highlands it can be minus 20c+ in winter.

    We have a member here on this forum who lives near Kircaldy and he would agree with what I posted for his area.

    Sure would, I've never been to Ayr when it was nice and "cozy" in winter,although it does get nice weather "occasionally" in the summer, like anywhere else in Scotland.

    It's a damp cold. Eventually one acclimatizes just like where I live. Yep. I have lived here for 18 years and I am soooooo looking forward to acclimatizing... it should happen sooner or later.
