Love is an emotion and a bonding behavior which is on many levels with humans. It keeps individuals as a pair to raise their young (at least that is the biological intent!). It also is the way that parents keep their attentions on caring for their young, elders, and other family and friends. It separates us from lower forms of animal life!

People love others because it is a basic need, and it has nothing to do with casual sex. I think that love is what bring people together, and by that, it makes continuity of the human race, as well as continuity of other species, possible.
