    Why do employers have to check your credit before they offer you a job

     I always thought that was an infringment on ones right to privacy. Same applies to your car insurance. The better your credit the better your rate. Insane.

    Basically a credit report shows your level of responsibility. 



    I would like to think that if you deal with money that you are not out to snag someones money. For instance a cashier in a casino should have little debt. Do you see why?

    I always said you Canadians are a bit more on the ball than we here in the states when it comes to common sense.

    That arguement won't fly today. Most people are going through difficult financial times and many won't have a spotless record because of no fault of their own. Many companies will not interview you if your not currently employed, that to me is nuts. Also discrimination in my eyes.
