Yes you can use Wine to install Kies but so far it has only worked for me on Ubuntu. I cannot get it to work on Mint, Lubuntu Xubuntu.

You can run Kies on Ubuntu, I have had it on my netbook for about two months before i changed to Mint. It worked perfectly on Ubuntu, sadly though it does not work on Mint, Lubuntu or Xubuntu. You will need Wine to downdload it. It will through up an error message near the end but it will still work fine.
