UPDATE ON MY MOM:

Mom was released from the hospital today (Monday) after being treated for pneumonia, congestive heart failure, high blood pressure, and arterial fibrilation. She is in good spirits and on top of things mentally. I'm so thankful to have more time to spend with her.

Thank you, everyone, who has had good thoughts going her way, and for those who gave me the support and advice to handle the problem with my sister. I really love and appreciate my akaQA friends; you have no idea.

I am so sorry to hear this Bob i.e. that your Mother is ill and glad she is now home. I have atrial fibrillation myself cardiologist wanted to admit me two days ago but I did not go - it comes and goes. Had a lot of stress my Mother died on the lst July (she was in hospital for two months, her care appalling and I have never experienced such a traumatic time) - so I have not been on here so very often and my internet is playing up - all the very best to you and your Mother - I know how awful it is enjoy your time with her. Big hugs for you both. xoxo

I am glad your Mom is doing better. I seem to have missed quite a bit lately. I do hope your family situation sorts it's self out ... they don't know how lucky they are to have a supportive you close by.

I have no family near me... and I can tell you, it is difficult.

Fishlet it is the same for me too - my Sister is not so far from London but have a problem with her especially now. It is just awful without my Mother - so extremely lonely.

My family has been spread far and wide because of employment opportunities. I keep myself very busy and I am blessed to have a wonderful husband and son.

Thanks Fishlet I am thinking of this - I have found retirement very hard to take and had such an amazing life that it has kinda hit me hard. Don't worry about me - I am no rooting for sympathy which is how sometimes I feel I come across - need to move from where I am but moving is not just a simple thing. Thank you for caring.

God bless her.. I had a neighbor, and she too had congestive heart failure and was legally blind. She was an amazing woman and could remember things, that I had long forgotten. Your Mom seems a lot like her.

Hi PKB, I was unable to give you advice, re guarding your sister, instead I said a prayer for you, and your Mom, Im so happy that she is now home, and in good spirits. Spend as much time as you can with your Dear Mom, we only have one, and I dont have my parents now.

I call her daily and spend the weekends with her. Should have done this years ago; she is still in failing health; must make every minute with her as pleasant as can be...whatever she wants.
