1. Sign in to your Windows Live Account.
2. At the upper right corner of the window, click on your Profile Name.
3. In the drop down menu, select Account.
4. Under Other Options, click on Close your account link.
5. In the Close your Windows Live account page, you will be prompted for your password.
You may be prompted to close your Microsoft email account (Windows Live Hotmail) first, please click on Close your Microsoft account link. These two pages may appear after click on the link.
6. You may be prompted to ”Close your Account”, if this appears:
Click on the Close Account button.
If “Your account has been activated” appears, please repeat Step 1 to 6.
7. After clicking the Close Account button, your email account is now closed. Your stored messages and contact list will be permanently deleted within the next few days.
Note: If you sign in within the next 270 days, your Windows Live Hotmail will be reactivated.
