That is a funny fit for that cartoon!

    Very good, Shootah!
    Shootah

Yeah...I got a kick out of it when I saw it.
    Dardaigh

Hah...a wet posterior is no laughing matter!
    FISH-O

No laughing matter. And, when it happens to your sweet little three year old he is practically going for a cold swim.
    Shootah

Hm...I guess that's why there are two flow charts.
    Dardaigh

Wonder how many women have fallen in at least once during their lifetime?
    Shootah

    I guess so!
    Dardaigh

    Day off?

To be considerate of others plus it just looks neater, like someone gives a care......

    mycatsmom

My late husb must have been trained by his 1st wife, b/c he never left the seat up....and even closed the lid on it.

I aim to please.  You aim TOO please.

    Dardaigh

    Exactly!

It is often a "hit and miss" proposition.
    digger

Nothin' but net. 2 points !
    Chiangmai

Let me check with your wife if yours rimmed out or not, digger. I hope she doesn't say anything about 3-pt attempts.
    digger

My alley oop maneuvers can get pretty messy.
    Chiangmai

Hahaha. Mine too. I get close to the rim these days.
    digger

Yeah, I like to play it safe too. 3-pointers are for last minute situations only.
    Chiangmai

Yep, we boys need to keep the distance to the mark very close: McCoffeeCups are 4 Layups.
    witchway

Lovin' this! I'm making a sign to hang in the powder room. lol

    For us women.

The seat and the lid should both be down

    because studies have shown airborne

particles coming from the toilet if the lid

is left up and that is quite gross.

    Dardaigh

    Um....no. During the flushing process.
    Zap! ;)
    Bob/PKB

The droplets can travel over six feet out of the bowl when it is flushed. That is disgusting. Those automatic flushers are gross, too. Sometimes you can't get away from it before it flushes. I feel like my clothes are covered in flush-fluids. ICK
    Poppy3

Thanks for that Phyllis - I guess I will have to flush the loo with the lid down in that case - it's only on the odd occasion one of my cats decides to stand up at stare into the bowl when it is flushing, guess he likes the sound or is curious if he happens to be around but it is only when there is urine in there not like the time when I rushed to the loo urgently and forgot the seat was down and well there it was all over me the seat and the tiles.

Because she said so,, that's why!!

    Nod and smile.

To keep the dog from drinking out of it..

    Dardaigh

    Ewwwwwwwwww
    FISH-O

Good one and politically correct. You are so smart.
    robertgrist

So where does the dog drink now?
    mycatsmom

when we were little, our dog drank out of it, and we laughed real hard :-D

Why are toilets made with a hinged seat that goes up and down and a hinged lid that also goes up and down?  For use by both men and women and for hygiene when flushing.

    digger

Did you just make that up ?

    Lousy historian.

To keep the peace in the house and the p*ss in the bowl.

    Dardaigh

    How delicately put!
    FISH-O

If you are going to state it that way then... absolutely. It is horrible falling into the water, if you want to know the truth.
    Dardaigh

Too funny, Fishie...that's what I said in Shootah's answer. :)

Thanks to all for the "visual". lol
    mycatsmom

You men should learn to aim straight . Hahahahah

Helps cut down on the bit**ing.

    Dardaigh

    Funny! :)

My reason would be to keep house pet from falling in and drougning, also to be a little more respect to other sanitation wise, my dog has no tast bud?? water hmmm!! a little salty that Ok. no complaining from him.

Because it's cleaner when you flush and it's polite to leave it down for the next user.

The seat should be down and the lid closed. However, we're not going to do that. :D:D

Of course you're not...it's very time-consuming, isn't it? Two seconds of your time...gone forever!
    digger

Consider the cumulative effect. We're now talking hours needlessly wasted in a lifetime.

Well, I never!  What a lot of rotten, stingy people we have here. TUs being handed out by the dozen and what does the questioner get ? One meager TU.  Shame on you!

    Dardaigh

Oh, alright...you guilted me into it. ;)
    Colleen

I gave no one a TU. Yup, I'm THAT stingy :)
    Bob/PKB

I didn't take the question too seriously. Sorry.

So your dog can't do this to the cat.

    Dardaigh

    Ha ha ha...I shouldn't be laughing...I'm a cat lover. :D

But you do have to laugh at that really ticked off cat face, lol
    Dardaigh

Oh yeah...that face says it all.
    Poppy3

    Just lovely pictures!!
    mycatsmom

when my boy cat was a few months old, he was sitting on the toilet seat, investigating the water, and he fell into the bowl. At least it was clean water.

Excuse me for coming in right at the end of this very interesting debate, may I just mention one little thing - in an "emergency" a woman is likely to approach the loo backwards and therefore doesn't have a good view of how things lie - whereas men (most of the time) will approach it forwards so they can see how the situation lies before they commit themselves!  So it is only reasonable to expect the men leave the seat ready for the women to use.

It's harder for the snakes to get out.

You don't have to believe that now that you're an adult! lol

I don`t have that problem ! My wife hands me a shovel tells me to use the next door neighbours garden ,doesn`t like her .thinks she talks a lot of "S--T !! I don`t argue ."Wise Man !

Because women would not "stand" for such behavior!  Also, not doing so can be deadly for men! ""

because when you flush it is disgusting.  Nasty water sprays your whole bathroom, then you walk in it and smear it all over your home. I make it a rule to always put lid down and take off your nasty shoes when entering my home.

You might want to call a plumber and have your toilet checked as it should not be spraying water all over your bathroom. This is a problem not a normal thing for a toilet to do.

b/c when it's up, then the woman or the girl in the house have to touch the seat to put it down.........and that is germy . So, let the man that used it put it down and then WASH  his hands !!

youn guys ever sit on the crapper and the seat slips to the side and cracks and pinches your butt half off?

so your old ladys butt, does fall into the bowl.

    mycatsmom

and so children don't fall into the bowl....especially at night .

Because men urinate everywhere and it's a way to Make it look clean for the next 2 days untill we get the wonderful duty of cleaning the darn stains off again! It's either that or a cork! It never gets old....

Two days? I clean every day.

this makes sense.first it stop the smell in all the bathroom and in the house.

it also hide the dirty marks if not cleaned .so it is much better to keep it down.
