    why are some trees dark but are light

    if you have ever noticed how on moutins there are sections that are dark but then the rest are light.green

      The sunlight filtering through the trees (even the tree tops) can cause shadowing making it appear like similar tress have different color leaves. Also, if there is more than one mountain, the shadows from the other mountains cause the dark areas. It could also be that one grove of trees is different from the other so the leaves with have a different shade.
