      Because if the instructions were not there, someone would find a way or reason to sue the manufacturer.

        Well John, I see you live in England. Here in the USA, people can sue for any reason they choose. The person or company being sued will spend thousands just protecting themselves against a frivolous lawsuit.

          The instructions are there just in case the soup eater's parents did not teach the soup eater how to use the stove, microwave or sun power.

            Because if the instructions were inside the can, they would probably be too soggy to be legible.
