I'm not up on the Chinese callendars. The Mayans used abut 5 dif. callendars - form 1 year all the way up to 5,000 years- they all are cyclical. This Dec. the 5,000 year callendar ends- the next day will be day 1 of the next 5.000 year cycle.

P.S. Our callendars end after Dec. 31st each year and a New one begins on Jan 1st of the next year.
