    Does it work well ,?  What kind of salt do you use ,potassium or sodium ?

        no we do not, we have water that does not leave corrosion on anything.  Luckily, our wash does not have problems, etc. I assume that is why you would get one.  A salesman tried to sell whole house systems to us years ago, we found no reason for one.  If he were a better salesman, and we were weaker consumers, I guess we would have one...
