    what is the beam size for 10' opening in a house wall

    That question is hard to say without knowing what the live load over top the girder would be carrying. If it is a single story home you could get by with a double 2X10, but if you had a 3 story house over it, more engineering would be required. A full service lumber yard/ home center might be able to help.
