    how near to the vehicle in front of you do you need to be to take advantage of it's slip stream to save fuel and how far behind the vehicle does the vortex left by it become an inderance to the followig vehicle?

    Mythbusters proved the closer you drive to another vehicle the more fuel you save, but the risks you take by doing this outweigh the benefits.

    Race cars do it all the time at 180 MPH, but it requires being TOO close in traffic.


    It does work when following a tracer trailer with a big box trailer, where you can stay a full car length behind, like on flat roads and downgrades.
