    i have a 57 CHEVY CORVETTE dual carbs with a 280 v8 small block and it smokes bad does anyone know what i can do to make it stop

    The best way to tell is look at what kind of smoke. Bluish color from burning oil. Black from bad mixture of fuel, or poor ignition.


    The rings might not be good, but it could also be something else. Make sure you run it for at least half an hour, and change your oil. The engine might just have a bad maintenance history and need the gunk cleaned out of some of the return oil ports.
