    2002 dodge caravan a/c noise

    My a/c makes a growling noise when on. If I turn it off, noise stops. If I put van in neutral (so I can hear when at a drive thru) the noise stops. Any suggestions?

        I have already looked on the Dodge Forum site. I feel that it was not very user friendly. But after searching through topics for several hours, I found nothing that matches my problem. On a different site, I did come across a few people who have the same problem (so I know it is somewhat common). I was unable to locate any suggestions or solutions.
