    4. I have 3 wires coming out of the wall white black & a bare one. I have a Leviton 4 prong outlet to hook to them for a dryer what 3 terminals do i hook them to on back of outlet?

      Thats a job for a qualified electrician you can google the answer but I am too scared to paste the link incase you get fried... its dangerous!

        not really you just cant be dumb as dirt and try it. i have enough common sense to keep me from getting fried

        Common sense doesn't mean the person whom originally wired it up had the same ...

        Your dryer works on 220 volts. It requires a dedicated circuit. You need a qualified person to hook this up.

          im not dumb as dirt i can do it if i new where the bare(neutral) white & black wires connected on back of outlet because thats ground hot & commond & you have to make it where you have 2 hot & 1 grund termanils on outlet i know the round termanil is where bare wire goes because it has ground strap on back of outlet with that terminal just dont know witch terminals black & white go to to make it 220 theres 2 flat ones & 1 v shaped one.

          We are not saying that you are dumb .. I have friends whom have been fried fixing things. I would hate to be the person to show you the links you get fried and your family wonders why the hell you touched something that will cost you less than $40 ...If you ring an electrician they will tell you the right or wrong way...
