Live trap them and move them elsewhere. You might be doing this for years however since more will come. If you feed birds, you will get them. If you have food they like on your property, you will get them. Killing them is cruel and will not stop them as others will appear to take their place. You should learn to co-exist with nature. The animals where here first. I have all sorts of wild life in my yards. I love it. I feed them and give them things to make homes with they return the favor by not destroying what is mine by looking for food or a dry place to stay.

Shoot 'em with a .22.
if you're not into that, take cayenne pepper and you can either make a spray mixture of 1 part pepper to 10 parts water or just sprinkle the pepper around the areas you want to protect. They don't like it and it won't harm them or the vegetation.
