A single gram of carbohydrates contains roughly four calories of energy. ... it has 4 calories1 gram of carbohydrate has 4 calories 1 gram of protein has 4 calories. 1 gram of fat has about 9 calories (these numbers are from things I am reading from a Google search).
You can readily see, by doing simple math, that 27g of carbohydrate is 27 x 4 or 108 calories from carbs. That doesn't leave a lot of calories for fat or protein, does it. I don't really understand HOW to determine the number of calories in a gram of carb, fat, protein based on the information I find when I look for the same answers as you
