That word is used as a noun and verb.  It applies to dogs, humans, complaints, etc.  I don't want to hear any more bitching today.

The real question should be "Why do you call a female person bitch ?"

Because most females are bitches.lol

Interesting, the French word 'biche' means a deer, and is used as a term of affection, but the French word equivalent to 'bitch' is 'garce' a highly offensive word, whereas a female dog is 'une chienne'.
