Parks and Recreation
The park's and recreational activities are currently coordinated by the Township's Supervisor and supported by the Parks and Recreation Committee. Day-to-day oversight of the parks and employees is the responsibility of the Township officials.
Sports Complex
The Sports Complex, at the corner of Baumhoff and Alpine Church Rd., offers playground equipment, a walking track, three softball/baseball fields, and four soccer fields. Field use should be secured with a permit that can be obtained during regular business hours at the Township Offices.
Currently soccer fields remain available Mondays –Saturdays, and Softball/Baseball Fields Fridays-Sundays. Fees are $35 per game or 2 hour time slot. Call 784-1262 or e-mail a.arends@alpinetwp.org. for availability and reservations.
Wahlfield County Park
Wahlfield County Park, at the corner of 8-Mile Rd and Alpine Avenue includes groomed trails for walking or cross country skiing, along with a large picnic shelter, a large playground and rest rooms. 246 acres. Groomed trails for walking or cross country skiing will be available.
Dwight Lydell County Park
Located near the Comstock Park Post Office, Dwight Lydell County Park spans the border of Alpine and Plainfield Townships. About 23 of the park acreage lie in Alpine Township, primarily on the west end near the ponds and southwest ballfield. Westgate Neighborhood Park
Westgate Neighborhood Park on Westshire Drive is a 7.5-acre site that includes playground equipment, tennis courts, a ballfield, and restrooms. The Park is closed for most of the 2012 season due to sewer construction.
Parks & Recreation Committee
The Parks & Recreation Committee meets the second Thursday of every month at 7:00 P.M. at the Township offices at 5255 Alpine N.W. The venue is changed occasionally to one of the complexes.
