Does anyone know how to find information regarding someones discharge for trying to hang themself back in boot camp way back in 1962. DAV can't seem to help but the DOD gave us the recruits name, place he joined , and his service number but wouldn't or couldn't supply more information other than she was holding his "unit diary" and it had "codes" No longer used I was told. Thanks for any assistance for my husband

Personal information about a service member is private. Only the service member or direct family member of the service member, with power of attorney can access that information. You will only get information that the military service deems right to know for anyone not related to the service member.
