Which other means could be used to stop diesel generator except to cut "off the fuel"?

Other methods of stoping diesel generators that is not cutting off the fuel supply?

You might be able to block the air intake. A worn diesel engine will continue to run without fuel by consuming its lubricating oil until it seizes.

nomdeplume  ideal dosnt work then try  to block off the exhaust. I think you will find that this is nearly impossible to do since the pressure created by the running engine will be very hard to overcome.

It was also suggested that you try a CO-2 fire extinguisher sprayed into the intake.

If if is a backup generator, that comes on automatically when your electrical sevice is lost, cut the power to the transfer circuet, WBMS
