Download and install Google Maps to your web-enabled cell phone. To do this go to:

    • http://www.google.com/mobile/maps/index_.html on your home computer and look for a box in the upper right corner that says "Get Google Maps for mobile." Click on "Send to Phone" and put in your phone number and click "Send." Your phone will receive a text message with a link to download the application.

Download and install "Google My Location." To use your phone as a GPS device you will need to download another piece of software to your phone from Google that tells your phone where you are on the map. Do this by texting the word "BlueDot" to 33669 or go to Google.com/gmm on your web-enabled mobile phone. Download the application and follow the instructions to install it.

Track your location. Open up "Google My Location," press the "0" button and hold it down for a few seconds. If you have GPS on your phone your precise location will be shown by a blue dot on the map. If you do not, a blue circle will give you an approximate location.
